The midrange smartphone market is an occupied section, where all major manufacturers are fighting it out with a few of the most value-for-money smartphones. Sony, once a dynamic player in this portion, has launched two new smartphones to get some traction force in the market. The smartphones are called Xperia R1 and Xperia R1 Plus.

The Xperia R1 includes a 5.2-in. 720p display. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor chip, 2 GB of Ram and 16 GB of internal storage that may be expanded with a microSD card. Rounding out the specifications are a 2,620 mAh battery, 13 MP main camera, 8 MP front-facing camera, USB type-C slot, and dual-SIM support.

The Xperia R1 Plus is nearly similar to the Xperia R1 right down to the 146 x 73.2 x 8.8mm dimension and 154-gram weight. Really the only difference between two devices would be that the Plus will feature 3 GB of Ram memory and 32 GB of storage. Both devices will deliver with Android Nougat from the box, with a well-planned upgrade to android Oreo.

Both smartphones support Dual SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, Gps navigation and 4G VoLTE. It includes a USB Type-C slot for charging and data transfer.
The Xperia R1 and R1 Plus will be set at Rs 12,990 (~ $200) and Rs 14,990 (~ $231) respectively. Sony offers two color options for both devices Black color and Silver. They'll be available starting November 10 at all Sony Centre, major mobile stores and e-commerce websites like Amazon.
